Florida’s Impaired Waters

Florida checks the health of its rivers, lakes, springs, estuaries, and coastal waters by dividing them into assessment units called waterbody IDs (WBIDs). Waters that fail state standards for things like nutrients, bacteria, or dissolved oxygen go on the verified impaired list, which means the state has to set a pollution limit for them. Click any waterbody to see its name and what it’s listed for.

Verified impairedNot on the verified impaired list

Data: Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Waterbody IDs and Verified List of Impaired Waters, loaded live from DEP's map server. Waters not on the verified list aren't necessarily healthy. Some have too little data to assess, and others are impaired but already have a pollution limit in place.
